Cheers to Microsoft for at least attempting to make the web safer for children
Microsoft, in conjunction with Child Exploitation and Online Protection Centre (CEOP) introduces a ‘child-save’ extension to Internet Explorer 8.

I’m for anything that will help parents monitor what their kids do on the internet. I’d like to start with keeping prisoners off of computers.
Do you remember the whole Frank Lombard travesty, where he adopted a Black child to have sex with him. Then, this Duke University employee logged on, regularly, with a prisoner, and performed for the creep on camera.
As well as delighting his prison buddy, he had conversations with the FBI and thought he was talking to a 14 year old (not in prison). He performed for “her” too.
Once someone exploits a child, they should never see the light of day again.
Microsoft has tried some things in the past. I recall IE 6 having some kind of stuff built-in, but it wasn’t very effective; almost an honor system kind of thing.
I’m glad to see IE 8 having what looks like more effective functionality. I’m going to look into adding that to granddaughter’s browser.
