A Marine was ordered to stop an online auction in which he promised to legally change his name to whatever the highest bidder wanted it to be.

The auction, on Sgt. Cody Baker’s personal website, started July 20 with a $5 bid to name him ‘Mr. Clean’. Other bids wanted Baker to change his name to ‘George Bailey of Bedford Falls’.

hehe! I like that one… hello, my name is: George Bailey of Bedford Falls!

Or, how ’bout: ‘Little Sally Struthers’ (oh, that’s right, she’s not exactly little anymore)

An online coffee company bid $26,333.31 to have Baker’s military name tape carry its slogan: ‘Finest Freshest Fastest’.

The highest bid had reached $30,000.01, offered by the website www.FreebieStore.com.

In the long run I think he’ll be glad he didn’t go thru with it…

Mr Freebiestore…ha!
